EAMONN Holmes has been forced to miss tonight's National Television Awards because of illness.
The Northern Irishman took to Instagram to share the news with fans, posting a picture of him with a sad face while wife Ruth Langsford planted a kiss on his cheek.
While Eamonn, 58, was wrapped up in a grey dressing gown and a white T-shirt, his glamorous other half looked stunning in an off the shoulder red dress ready for the red carpet.
He wrote alongside the picture: "One of us is off to The #NTA Showbiz Ceremony and the other is staying at home poorly, uncared for abandoned, coughing endlessly .
"Can u guess which of us is doing what?"
The pair then shared the same video on Instagram of Ruth, 57, giving Eamonn a cuddle before leaving for the awards.
She said: "Aww look, my little sickly husband.
"This will be the first time I've been to the National Television Awards on my own without you.
"You can't even speak can you?"
Looking forlorn, Eamonn whispered a sad "No" as Ruth brushed his hair back tenderly.
She asked: "Will you miss me?
Eamonn croaked that he would, before adding: "You're looking too gorgeous.
"She's looking far to gorgeous. Do I look gorgeous?"

Ruth replied: "No, not really" before giving him a kiss on the lips and leaving the room as he waved her off to the red carpet.
Ruth isn't the only star wearing red for the event, with Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid also donning the hue.
The TV presenter looked glamorous in a scarlet, floor-length gown
The plunging neckline showed off her creamy skin, that contrasted with her long brunette locks.
She topped off her show-stopping look with a slash of red lipstick.
Also dazzling in red was Geordie sweetheart Scarlett Moffatt.
Her floor-length gown featured a dazzling diamante neckline.
Scarlett had teased her hair into a tousled up-do.
She topped off the look with a statement eyebrow.
Sharing the snap on Instagram, she wrote: "Feeling happy & like the dancing emoji 💃🏽💃🏽all set for the NTAs ❤️ #happy #gown #reddress"
