Former Neighbours star Dichen Lachman and Joel Kinnaman strip naked in Altered Carbon

Judging by the sheer number of naked and sex scenes on the show, it's going to be a very racy future

ALTERED Carbon might be the raunchiest show on Netflix.

The new sci-fi drama sees a world where people exist on hard-drives implanted into their necks and the rich can buy an endless stream of "sleeves" to essentially live forever, and judging by the sheer number of naked and sex scenes on the show, it's going to be a very racy future.

House of Cards star Joel Kinnamen stars as Takeshi Kovac, a terrorist recently woken up from an unlimited prison sentence after 250 years by a billionaire who needs him to solve a murder.

But while the mystery will keep viewers intrigued, the sheer level of nudity and sex scenes will have them delighted.

Joel is first seen on screen totally starkers and spends much of the time either naked or romping his way through the show.

Actress Dichen Lachman bares all on screen, as does actor James Purefoy and actress Martha Higareda.

However, while the show has been thrilling audiences, the adverts for it have been leaving the public feeling very confused and at some points disturbed.

The creepy advert looks like a human body trapped inside plastic bag and on closer inspection appears to even be breathing.

The billboard has been attracting a lot of attention from passers-by, with some even stopping to poke the unusual advertisement.

It has been erected to promote Netflix’s hotly anticipated new series Altered Carbon.

The show, based on the 2002 novel of the same name by Richard K. Morgan, was released worldwide earlier today on the streaming platform.

West Hollywood residents were certainly intrigued by the bulging poster.

Leo Ramsey told : “It’s kind of incredible though as far as advertising a TV show goes because it’s a sculpture really, it’s not just a poster.”

Another member of the public added: “I think the whole point is for it to be creepy. I don’t think it’s too much, no.”

Altered Carbon is described as a cyberpunk science fiction novel set 500 years in the future.

Joel Kinnaman gets naked in trailer for Netflix series Altered Carbon

It centres on Joel Kinnaman’s character, who after 250 years on ice returns to life in a new body – a disgraced policeman.

Human personalities can be stored digitally and downloaded into new bodies, called sleeves, which is why he is known as Takeshi Kovac's sleeve.

He gets the chance to win his freedom by helping a highly influential aristocrat, played by James Purefoy, solve his murder.
