Jennifer Metcalfe reveals secrets to losing two stone after giving birth
Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe is currently on maternity leave for a year after giving birth to her eight-month-old son, Daye with ex-Geordie Shore star Greg Lake
JENNIFER Metcalfe has revealed exactly how she dropped two stone after giving birth to baby Daye in June last year.
The Hollyoaks actress – currently on a year-long maternity leave after having eight-month-old Daye – looks incredible after becoming a mum.
Hollyoaks actress Jen has gone from a size 10 to a tiny size six in the space of six months and says she is "proud" of the way she looks.
She’s currently following a well-known diet brand plan to get back in shape.
Speaking to the Daily Star’s TV Life, she revealed: “I never really got on the scales. I’d guess [I’ve lost] a couple of stone but it seems to have gone away almost completely now.
“My advice would be not to take anyone else’s advice. Do it in your own time.”
She also revealed that exercise was something she only started when her body “felt ready”.
She’s now working out with high intensity classes and baby yoga – which she can take Daye along to.
Jen said: “We spend so much time on social media and on Instagram you see these mums who have bounced back after a week and it’s not fair to put so much pressure on yourself.”
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online last month, Jennifer said: "I'm proud of my body and what I've achieved.
"I don't weigh myself, but I'm back in the clothes I used to wear before I was pregnant."
Jennifer, who has been in a relationship with former Geordie Shore star Greg Lake for five years, explained: "When I saw my stomach for the first time since I had Daye I cried.
"I looked at my belly and there was no baby in it.
"I said to Greg, I don't want to touch it. It was his little home."
Jennifer's dedication has clearly paid off, as the star looked sensational while on holiday recently.
Snapped while splashing in the pool, the mum-of-one showed off her new figure in a pretty white bikini top and contrasting black bottoms.
Given that Jennifer herself didn't attempt to bounce back straight after the birth of Daye, she said she fully supports celeb mums Abbey Clancy and Cara de la Hoyde who have also refused to bow to pressure.
Jennifer added: "If women want to snap back they should crack on.
"If you want to do it in a week, or a year, each to your own.
"I'm not bothered by trolls, and I do what works for me."
The actress will return to Hollyoaks in June, following her maternity leave, but she insists that it wasn't behind her reason to slim down either.
She added: "After you've had a baby, you realise that a miracle that has just grown inside you, and how amazing your body actually is."I'm happy with the way I look - and it's taken a baby to do that."
