DAVID Beckham has lent his support to a global campaign to help raise awareness of the deadly impact of malaria.
The former footie hunk joined forces with Ridley Scott for the new haunting campaign which highlights how thousands of people still lose their lives to the preventable disease.
The new pictures from the film show him "under attack" by a swarm of 10,000 mosquitoes whilst confined in a small glass box.
Wearing a tight black t-shirt which reveals his tattoos, the 42-year-old can be seen holding onto his arm, as though to show he has been bitten.
David was filmed as part of a So Millions Can Live campaign which is being launched with an aim of helping to eradicate malaria, which is spread by mosquitoes.
The film is designed to highlight that hundreds of thousands of people still die from the world's oldest disease - that can be prevented.
Meanwhile yesterday Becks revealed he will miss out on an important footie match - because his wife Victoria comes first.
David, like most avid football fans faces being double booked next Wednesday for Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain because it’s Valentine’s Day.
He has admitted that wife Vick will prefer a romantic date instead of watching the two European giants go head-to-head.
David spent four years in the Spanish capital before his move to LA Galaxy in 2007 and retired in 2013 after five months at PSG.
The former Manchester United star has just become the owner of the new MLS franchise in Miami and is hopeful of being in Paris for the return clash in March.
He told : “I'm planning on going to the second game.
"The first game is on Valentine's Day and I'm not sure I can pull that one off.
“Even taking my wife for Valentine's Day to the game, I'm not sure that would go down well either."
