Emmerdale spoilers: Liv Flaherty comes out as asexual to friend Gabby Thomas
The teen has a heart-to-heart with her best pal - in a bid to avoid more awkwardness with Jacob Gallagher, who seems to think she fancies him
EMMERDALE's Liv Flaherty reveals she's asexual during a heart-to-heart with friend Gabby Thomas.
The 15-year-old - who last year admitted that she didn't fancy men or women after an embarrassing incident with pal Gerry - confronts her feelings after Jacob Gallagher starts to think that she likes him.
Liv asks Jacob to meet her and Gabby at the pavilion, and Jacob doesn’t realise she’s asking on Gabby’s behalf - leaving him thrilled to think Liv likes him.
At the pavilion, Gabby and Liv wait for Jacob as Liv tries to tell Gabby about her asexuality. Although Gabby thinks Liv might just be picky, Liv’s glad to have her pal's support.
When Liv first discussed her sexuality in scenes that aired in October 2017, she admitted that her drunken pass at Gerry was a bid to silence her pals who has noticed her lack of interest in the opposite sex.
She told Belle Dingle: "Gabby was going on at me about not being into boys, and I just wanted to kiss Gerry to prove her wrong. That's it I swear."

Affirming that she didn't like Gerry in that way, Liv continued: "God no. But he doesn't like me either. I practically threw myself at him but he wasn't having it. He was nice about it - but yeah, like I said, nothing happened."
She then started to give hints that there was more for her to talk about as she said: "I wish I did fancy him - it'd be a lot easier."
When Belle pressed as to why, Liv then admitted: "I'm just not that into guys - that's it. I don't like anyone, at all.
"I know it's weird - it is. I mean everyone has feelings for someone, and I've got nothing."
Asexuality is a lack of sexual attraction to any gender, and/or a lack of sexual drive, and has never before been shown in any of the shows in Soapland.
Emmerdale is a pioneering soap for LGBTQIA issues.
The popular show is home to some of the small screens best-loved same-sex couples, with Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle and Vanessa Woodfield & Charity Dingle.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm.
