Tom Cruise jumps off St. Paul’s Cathedral for Mission: Impossible 6 just two weeks after revealing that his ankle is still broken following a stunt gone wrong
The stakes are raised in the upcoming sequel that will see action man Tom return to the role of Ethan Hunt
TOM Cruise has been pictured jumping off St. Paul's Cathedral in London during filming of the upcoming Mission: Impossible sequel.
The daredevil actor is returning to the role of Ethan Hunt and it looks like the jaw-dropping stunts will continue to get more outrageous.
55-year-old Tom proved he's still athletic as he raced into the cathedral in what is sure to be another heart-pounding sequence.
The actor was wearing a safety harness over a denim jacket as he made the daring jump off the iconic landmark.
Previous instalments of the blockbuster franchise have seen Tom Cruise scale the Burj Khalifa - the tallest building in the world - and hang off the side of an accelerating plane in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
Tom's latest death-defying stunt comes just two weeks after appearing on The Graham Norton Show where he revealed his ankle is still broken after an injury during filming last August.
Explaining the accident that happened over the summer to Graham Norton, Tom said: “I was chasing Henry [Cavill] and was meant to hit the side of the wall and pull myself over but the mistake was my foot hitting the wall.
“I knew instantly my ankle was broken and I really didn’t want to do it again so just got up and carried on with the take. I said, ‘It’s broken. That’s a wrap. Take me to hospital’ and then everyone got on the phone and made their vacation arrangements.”
His co-star Rebecca Ferguson, who is six months pregnant, interjected: “I made a baby in the break! I thought I’d have at least six months off.”

Tom went on to explain that not only is his ankle still broken, but he’s also still filming the film’s stunts.
He said: “It’s still broken but I’m doing well.
“It’s not fully healed, but we are shooting and we have a release date, so I just have to keep going. I spent 8-10 hours a day, seven days a week in rehab because we still have some major stunts to do.”
