Mel B makes peace with Eddie Murphy after reaching out to his mum
Mel and Eddie are parents to 10-year-old Angel. The Shrek actor is reportedly trying to block the Mel's ex Stephen Belafonte from visiting the youngster
MEL B has made amends with former lover Eddie Murphy after spending "quality time" with his mother - the rumoured cause for their relationship breakdown in 2006.
The Spice Girls singer and actor Eddie are parents to 10-year-old Angel and they're reportedly on better terms following Mel's dramatic divorce.
Eddie and Mel dated briefly in 2006 but the Shrek actor called time on their relationship when the singer was six months pregnant.
A source told the : "Mel reached out to Eddie's mum Lilian and she went round for a meal.
"They spent a lot of quality time together, and Lilian is part of the family now.
"It's a big deal because when Mel originally split with Eddie it was over the way she spoke to his mum."
The source added: "Relations with Mel and Eddie have improved considerably, they are on good terms.
"Mel's divorce with Stephen has brought her closer to Eddie, who just wants to help as much as he can."
Stephen Belafonte is thought to be seeking visitation rights to Angel but father-of-nine Eddie reportedly opposes the idea and will support Mel's fight against her abusive ex.
Mel - better known as Scary Spice - is set for a busy 2018 after reports that the Spice Girls are launching a TV hunt for the next big pop sensation.
After delighting fans when they posted a reunion selfie last week, they are now hoping to take things up a notch by launching a TV talent show that will scour the globe for “the new Spice Girls”.
The idea is being driven by Simon Fuller — the man who led the girls’ rise to superstardom in the Nineties as their original manager, and who wants to take the new show to Japan, China, Australia and the US, as well as the UK.

Another idea the girls discussed is their own clothing line.
A source added: “It’s likely that any range will be sold in a high street store like H&M.
“The idea is for it to be very cool and a nod to their past looks rather than copies of the girls’ famous outfits.
“If it does go ahead, naturally Victoria will be in full control.”
