Tom Cruise hangs out on 325ft chimney as he prepares for epic stunt on top of London’s Tate Modern for Mission: Impossible 6
TOM Cruise looked back to his action man self as he filmed the latest scenes for Mission: Impossible - Fallout.
The 55-year-old had been out of action after breaking his ankle during a failed stunt on set, but he looked ready for action as filming continued once again.
Perched 325ft atop the Tate Modern, Tom could be seen attached by a harness and looking as if he was about to jump.
Dressed in his character’s Ethan Hunt’s typical all-black outfit, Tom looked towards the sky as a helicopter circled.
It’s unclear whether he would be lifted to safety by the chopper or try to escape it.
The actor was later seen sprinting with great concentration on his face in front of the famous London art gallery.
Tom has been busy filming for the latest instalment and just a couple of days before he was seen leaping from St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Previous instalments of the blockbuster franchise have seen Tom Cruise scale the Burj Khalifa - the tallest building in the world - and hang off the side of an accelerating plane in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
Tom's latest death-defying stunt comes just two weeks after appearing on The Graham Norton Show where he revealed his ankle is still broken after an injury during filming last August.
Explaining the accident that happened over the summer to Graham Norton, Tom said: “I was chasing Henry [Cavill] and was meant to hit the side of the wall and pull myself over but the mistake was my foot hitting the wall.
“I knew instantly my ankle was broken and I really didn’t want to do it again so just got up and carried on with the take. I said, ‘It’s broken. That’s a wrap. Take me to hospital’ and then everyone got on the phone and made their vacation arrangements.”
Tom went on to explain that not only is his ankle still broken, but he’s also still filming the film’s stunts.
He said: “It’s still broken but I’m doing well.
“It’s not fully healed, but we are shooting and we have a release date, so I just have to keep going. I spent 8-10 hours a day, seven days a week in rehab because we still have some major stunts to do.”
