Dani Dyer ‘promised’ spot on Love Island after injured shoulder forces her out of Survival Of The Fittest
DANI Dyer has been offered a place on Love Island after her dreams of finding fame on Survival Of The Fittest were cut short.
The 22-year-old budding reality star - who was forced to leave the South Africa-based show after dislocating her shoulder during a challenge - has been "promised" a spot in this summer's line-up of ITV2's sister show, according the Daily Star.
A source told the newspaper: "Producers saw in the brief time they got to know Dani that she is surefire TV gold like her dad.
"She is funny, sharp and sexy, in many ways she is the perfect Love Islander.”
The daughter of EastEnders star Danny Dyer also hinted she may be given another shot by ITV2 bosses.
After revealing she was "absolutely gutted" to be departing so soon in her exit interview from the show, Dani added: "I hope this isn’t the last you’ve seen of me.”
Viewers saw Dani injure herself on a slide on Sunday night's episode before being rushed off to hospital.
Host Laura Whitmore revealed in tonight's show that she wouldn't be returning after producers decided she was not fit to continue, and would be replaced instead by Lottie James.
Her famous father admitted he was relieved she was coming home to Essex.
He wrote in an Instagram post: "Live and Let Live baby girl. Taken out by a boll***y slide.
"Don’t think my heart could have taken another 3 weeks of that caper. #proud.”
Fortunately for Dani, there will be less of a chance she will injure herself again if she enters the Love Island villa.
Survival Of The Fittest sees contestants do physical and mental challenges in a battle of the sexes while also finding romance.
Love Island, in contrast, focuses solely on dating, and constants spend virtually their entire time in the same luxury Spanish villa.
During her brief time in The Lodge, Dani earned the nickname the "new Marcel Somerville" from Twitter users after she repeatedly name-dropped her dad.
However, she has insisted that she "didn't want anyone to know" about her famous dad in order to feel equal amongst her fellow cast members.
In an interview before entering The Lodge she said: "I don’t want anyone to know."
