RAGING DR MARCEL

Marcel Somerville says he’s ‘devastated’ as he’s forced to put solo career on hold after thieves stole his music from his car

MARCEL Somerville has revealed he’s “devastated” after thieves stole his music, forcing him to put his highly-anticipated solo career on hold.

The Love Island star was out in London with girlfriend Gabby Allen to celebrate her birthday when thieves smashed his car window and stole his Mac with months of hard work on.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, the 31-year-old said: “I’ve lost all the music that I’ve been making since I got out the villa, it’s been terrible.

“Me and Gabby were on a date and I parked my car, and usually I’m so switched on, but I left my bag in the backseat of the car.

“You’d only be able to see into my car if you walk up to the window and really look in, so I’m guessing it was someone who spends their time doing that.

“They took everything, the new single, everything. Hopefully my iCloud can sync up the music, but I’m devastated.

“I’ve gone to the police and they’re checking the CCTV but I haven’t heard from them yet.”

To add to the frustration of the situation, Marcel’s only had his work on him because his single was just hours from completion.

He explained: “I was hoping to release a song really soon, as it was so close to having it finished that it just needed a few more things that I was going to do in the morning.

“I have to rebuy my Mac and rebuy all the soft wear that my work was on and remake it all. So it’s been pushed back at least a month as it’ll take a lot of effort.

“The song is a summery tune with a few lyrics about me and Gabs.”

And as Marcel focusses on his solo work, he says he’s happy that his band Blazin’ Squad are now getting more gigs thanks to his Love Island stint – although he’s chosen to distance himself from them for the time being.

He explained: “I’m happy that the boys can do their gigs as it’s been beneficial to everyone me doing the show, but I need to focus on myself as I was the one who went onto the show and having to deal with all the stress of Love Island.”

It’s not just music his music Marcel is famed for, he also became the villa’s Dr Marcel thanks to his wise words on the matter of love.

For Valentine’s Day he is teaming up with to offer fans no-nonsense love advice on their Twitter.

And his words come from experience after dealing with his fair share of heartbreak in his younger years.

He told us: “I had a relationship from when I was 17 until I was 23, it was my first proper long term relationship, when it ended it was so hard as I imagined a whole future together, and you can’t see anything beyond that.

“When you realise it’s over you just think, ‘what now?’ It’s just really heart-breaking.

“You’ve just got to face up to it if it’s not working and move the focus onto yourself. That’s what I did, I made sure I was happy being single and working out what I wanted my life to be.

“Once you’re happy in yourself you’ll be able to find someone new, if you’re happy with yourself you can really love someone then. Everything happens for a reason."
