How much will Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s divorce cost, what are their net worths and why have they split?
JENNIFER Aniston and Justin Theroux shocked the world this week when they announced their plans to divorce after two years of marriage.
Their decision has automatically raised the question of who will get what in the divorce, and how much it will cost. So here's what we know.
How much will Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's divorce cost?
The couple have been together since 2011, and during that time they bought a beautiful Bel Air mansion - which Jennifer recently showed off to Architectural Digest - for $21 million (£14.9 million) in 2015.
The couple used the lavish estate for their wedding ceremony that same year, but Jennifer is now believed to be selling the property following their split, and it is said to be worth $23 million (£16.3 million).
Justin also spends a lot of time at his New York apartment, which he bought in the early 2000s for $600,000 (£420,000) but is now said to be worth $1 million (£710K).
An insider told The Sun Online: "Justin is a proud man, he won't be asking for anything from Jen in the split.
"He's got his own money, and would never dream of an ugly court battle over the house, or ask her for spousal support.
"He still cares about Jen a lot, and wants to make the process of splitting up as pain-free as possible."
Meanwhile another source told : "Jennifer has an ironclad prenup with Justin. It would be very hard for Justin to contest it. The prenup talks before the marriage were long and intense.
"Jen's assets and 'Friends' fortune are protected."
What are their net worths?
Jennifer, 49, was definitely the breadwinner in the marriage with a reported net worth of $200 million (£141 million).
This is thanks to her movie roles - with her being ranked on last year's Forbes' annual list as the second highest paid actress earning $25.5 million (£17.7 million) - not to mention her many endorsement deals.
In recent years, Jennifer has joined forces with the likes of Smart Water, Emirates airline - earning $5 million (£3.5 million) - and Aveeno Skincare, for which she reportedly received an eight-figure deal back in 2013.
Jennifer was able to command a $1 million (£710K) per episode deal by the end of Friends and will continue to earn money from the hit sitcom's worldwide syndication.
Meanwhile Justin saw his net worth increase thanks to his hit TV series The Leftovers on HBO, where he reported commanded $75,000 (£53,000) an episode.
He has also received earnings from films including The Girl on the Train and Zoolander 2.
The Richest currently states his estimated net worth is $10.5 million (£7.4 million), while Coed put his value overall at $20 million (£14.2 million) after taking earning potential into account.
Why have Jennifer and Justin split?
The couple released a statement to Associated Press on February 15 which said they had “mutually and lovingly made the decision at the end of last year”.
The statement, released by Jennifer's publicist, reads: “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation.
"This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.
"We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.
"Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly.
"Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative.
"Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
There are currently no additional details as to why they have decided to split.
