Coleen McLoughlin and Wayne Rooney ‘gave baby Cass the middle name Mac as a tribute to her family’s support over the years

COLEEN Rooney is said to have given her newborn baby Cass the middle name Mac as a loving tribute to her family.

The mother-of-four and her football legend hubby Wayne are said to have agreed on the name in honour of all the support they have been given from Coleen's clan.

A source told The Sun Online: "She wanted to pay tribute to her family, the McLoughlins, after all the support they've given her over the years."

Coleen's mum Colette McLoughlin has been a rock as she raises her four boys - and is often seen supporting Coleen and spending time with the family.

The fashion designer and TV presenter has always been extremely close to her family, even enjoying a holiday in Barbados with mum Colette, dad Tony, and brothers Anthony and Joe.

They are known to dote on the grandchildren and are there to help whenever they can.

More recently her mother joined her on her baby shower.

The fun sports themed do saw Coleen, her mum, and Wayne's family sitting on spinning bikes for a picture.

They then enjoyed relaxing pampering sessions with manicures on offer, and were treated to fancy cupcakes.

Meanwhile Coleen has sent her fans wild by sharing a second picture of her newborn son Cass as he’s cradled by her eldest boy Kai.

In the tender picture eight-year-old Kai holds little Cass and goes to kiss him as he’s wrapped in a white and blue baby grow and blue blanket.

The 31-year-old mum-of-four captioned the shot: “Morning kisses 💙😘💙”

On Thursday morning Coleen announced the arrival of her son in a tweet reading: “So Happy to welcome our Baby Boy .... Cass Mac Rooney into the world weighing a healthy 8lb 10oz. He is beautiful 💙”

While her footballer husband Wayne joked: “5-a-side team complete! Welcome to the world Cass 💙💙💙💙”
