Paddy seems terrified at the thought of becoming a father
PADDY Kirk has discovered girlfriend Chas Dingle is pregnant in Emmerdale.
The vet - who is played by actor Dominic Brunt in the ITV soap - pretended to fall asleep in tonight's episode before Chas dropped the news she is expecting their baby.
"What's the point? He's plastered and no matter how much I wish I wasn't, I will still be pregnant in the morning," Chas told her mum Faith as Paddy snoozed.
But as soon as she left the room, Paddy opened his eyes, revealing he was wide awake and he looked terrified.
Spoiler readers know that Chas will left reeling when Paddy reveals he wants to keep the baby, despite the pub landlady wanting an abortion.
Paddy overhears Chas confiding in her mum, Faith Dingle, about her unplanned pregnancy and ends up getting blind drunk.
He’s awkward around Chas the next morning – and it’s not just the hangover – he soon tells his girlfriend what he overheard.
Chas is relieved when Paddy tells her he knows she’s pregnant and they both come to the conclusion that an abortion is the best solution – but Paddy is secretly disappointed as he was hoping for a different outcome.
When Chas finds out the truth – that Paddy actually wants to keep the baby – she’s shocked.
There’s further disappointment for the vet when Chas tells him that his true feelings change nothing – she still wants an abortion.
The pair clash over what they want, will Paddy eventually come round to Chas’s way of thinking?
Or will the much-loved couple realise they’re just too different after all?

During a trip to the GP to check on a hurt ankle, the Dingle babe hears she missed her appointment for her second contraceptive injection.
Chas is horrified to discover she could be pregnant after failing to take extra precautions with boyfriend Paddy.
She wastes no time in finding out she’s definitely expecting, can Paddy convince her to keep the baby?
