Emmerdale spoilers: Priya Sharma investigated over child abuse claims as Eliza’s bruises are deemed ‘suspicious’
Tensions are high as social services get involved
PRIYA Sharma’s worst fears come true next week when doctors confirm the bruises found on her niece, Eliza Macey, are not from a seizure.
The tot is raced to hospital in scenes to be shown this week when dad Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) discovers bruises on his daughter after leaving her in the care of sister Priya.
But Priya finds herself stressed caring for Eliza and her own daughter and ends up flinging a plate at the wall when the little ones won’t eat what she’s cooked for them.
She confides in her dad Rishi (Bhasker Patel) who tells her not to be so hard on herself.
But Rishi changes his tune when a social worker arrives at the hospital and tells the family that they’re treating the bruises on Eliza as suspicious and will need to investigate, leaving an anxious Priya stunned.
The distraught factory manager tries to talk to Rishi again but she’s left reeling when he suggests she could have harmed the tot while she was in her care.

The family need to be interviewed by the police and social services as part of the investigation and it soon becomes clear that Jai (Chris Bisson) is worried about what’s been going on with his daughter.
As the interviews get under way, concerns about Priya’s stability begin to surface and it’s not long before Eliza’s mum, Megan Macey, begins to have doubts.
Later, Priya is left terrified when during her own interview it dawns on her that she’s a suspect in Eliza’s potential abuse.
Megan and Jai are delighted when Eliza is allowed home but, when Priya discovers the little girl is banned from Holdgate, she’s devastated to realise her brother still doesn’t trust her.
