OSCARS host Jimmy Kimmel delivered a hilarious and brutal opening speech for the 2018 awards.
Millions held their breath as he took the stage wondering if he would tackle the controversy swirling around Hollywood...and he didn't pull any punches.
Jimmy took potshots at Donald Trump, shamed producer Harvey Weinstein and tackled the film industry's problems with racial diversity, as well as the #MeToo and Times Up campaigns.
But he still managed to raise laughs.
Coming on stage to rapturous applause, Jimmy addressed the Hollywood sex scandal by describing the Oscar statue as the ideal man.
The host said: "He keeps his hands where you can see them, and most of all...no penis."
He also backed the #MeToo campaign, saying Best Picture nomination The Shape of Water showed men has been so bad last year "women would rather date fish."
He added: "We can't let bad behavior slide anymore. The world is watching us. We need to set an example.
"If we can work together to stop sexual harassment in the workplace, if we can do that, women will only have to deal with harassment all the time at every other place they go."
Kimmel also slammed Harvey Weinstein, saying his down fall "was long overdue".
In a funny opening reel where Jimmy commentated over red carpet footage of stars, he also said of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman: "The mighty king of Wakanda. A black leader...wouldn't that be swell?"
Aware of the temptation for politically motivated actors to rattle out lengthy speeches, Jimmy declared they had a new system this year - quiz show style prizes for the shortest speech of the night, including a jet ski.
And he joked that in the case of a tie, the speed jet would go to veteran actor Christopher Plummer, while Helen Mirren posed next to the prizes.
Before the ceremony he joked about last year's infamous envelope mix up in a hilarious skit hinting the error still haunts his dreams.

He said before the start of the show he’s now prepared for anything that could happen on the night - after the mix up that saw La La Land being named the Best Picture winner over Moonlight.
Jimmy explained: “Everything everyone says gets attacked at all times. This is our new reality.
“I see a future of great silence… you carry on, and you have to realise what sometimes seems like an uproar is really four people tweeting. You also have to acknowledge that almost every subject is going to upset someone.”
