MADE In Chelsea's Sam Thompson has revealed his heartbreak over splitting from long-term girlfriend Tiffany Watson was "like a death in the family".
The couple split up last year and Sam has since appeared on Celebs Go Dating in the hopes of getting back on the dating scene.
Speaking about the break up at the Made In Chelsea press event, he said: "When I got dumped I was pretty raw.
"I'd never really had a relationship before and we were together for three and a half years...it felt like I'd lost a loved one. A death almost.
"My confidence was pretty low; when someone knows you that well they know all your positive and negative attributes and if they still don't want to be with you, your insecurity levels can be pretty mega.
"Then I did Celebs Go Dating and the guys over there built me up again and I feel better in myself."
Sam, who recently appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, said he and Tiff are no longer in touch.
"Tiff is a lovely girl and she's got a lot of life to live and a lot she wants to do," he said.
"I don't think break ups are made any better when you're still in contact.
"I'm trying to hang with my friends and move on."
Sam couldn't contain his excitement when talking about the new series as the storylines won't be focused on his on/off relationship with Tiff.
He said: "Now I get to ask people what's happening with them, rather than being like 'argh, people are meddling in my relationship' or whatever."
