Kirsty Gallacher gives up booze after drink-drive conviction shame

The TV presenter insists she now only drinks water after she was banned for driving for two years after being caught over the limit

KIRSTY Gallacher has revealed she has given up alcohol months after her drink-drive conviction.

The Sky Sports presenter insists she now drinks “tons of water” and nothing else.

It comes after she admitted to being three times over the booze limit in September and was banned for driving for two years.

In an interview with radio presenter Lisa Snowdon, 46, she revealed one of her beauty tips.

Kirsty, 42, said: “One of them is to drinks tons of water. I don’t really drink anything else.

“I put lemon and ginger in my water quite a lot. It tastes great and is good for detoxing and cleansing, and also alkalises your system.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing star failed a breath test when she went to pick up her kids in Windsor on August 12.

She had been on a heavy drinking session the night before.

The ex-wife of rugby union player Paul Sampson, 40, blamed the stress of her marriage break-up for the boozing.

In her latest interview she spoke about how she makes her entrances at parties.

Kirsty said: “I’m usually running late, so just slink in under the radar.”

And she insisted her family is the thing that makes her happy.

Kirsty added: “Lots of things (make me happy) – my children. We’re a really sporty family and I love going to watch them play football and rugby. I get such a kick out of seeing them do well. Being at home with my family makes me feel happy.”
