Piers Morgan reveals his son Bertie has been rushed to hospital after dislocating his shoulder in a rugby match
PIERS Morgan's son Bertie has been rushed to hospital after dislocating his shoulder during a rugby match.
The Good Morning Britain host shared a snap of his teenage son looking understandably downbeat as he sat with his arm wrapped in a bandage.
Piers, 52, revealed the injury has happened exactly a year after the 17-year-old dislocated the very same shoulder while playing the sport.
The TV presenter tweeted: "One year on... same shoulder, same injury (dislocation) same cause (rugby tackle), same A&E department of same hospital. "
But the star wasted no time thanking the staff at Kingston Hospital for their help.
He added: "On the one positive note, thanks again to staff for fantastic service. Maybe time to switch to football ..."
Fans were quick to send the youngster - who Piers shares with ex-wife Marion Shalloe, along with sons Spencer and Stanley - their well wishes, with many recommending Bertie give up the sport to prevent further injuries.
"I suspect that shoulder will give him trouble all his life now. Time to rethink rugby. Poor fella, that’s painful. I hope Bertie had a speedy recovery," one fan remarked.
"I had similar experience with my son, direct number to physio and first name terms in A & E! Don't let him give up though! ," another commented.
The tweet came just minutes after Piers revealed he has signed a two-year deal for Good Morning Britain.
