Standing on the Victoria Street expansion, Kym showed Richard Arnold the new Pakistani streetfood restaurant named Speed Daal, where curries start from £8 which Kym believes is “very good value for money".

Kym confirmed there is a tattoo shop around the corner named Tattoo’ll Do Nicely, along with a tram station, a snooker hall, community garden and police station.

Product placement deals have led to the inclusion of a Co-Op and Costa Coffee.

On whether she’ll be visiting the cop shop, Kym said: “Michelle’s been a bit dodgy of late, hasn’t she…”

Later the new set was shown in all its glory and boss Kate Oates unveiled the soap's permanent memorial to the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing.

Producers have built an urban garden that's dedicated to the 22 people who lost their lives - including Corrie super-fan Martyn Hett - on the Manchester set of the hit ITV soap.

Speaking at the unveiling, Kate said the soap is standing in solidarity with Manchester after the atrocities.

She said: "The urban garden is dedicated to the 22 victims of the Manchester bombing, in particular Martin, and those who were injured as well. We stand with Manchester and that's' why that's here. Solidarity for Manchester."

The memorial plaque reads: "For Martyn and all those who lost their lives on the 22nd of May 2017. We stand together."

Tina O'Brien (Sarah Platt), Jack P. Shepherd (David Platt), Sue Nichols (Audrey Roberts) and Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) cut the ribbon as the urban garden was unveiled in Weatherfield.

22 innocent lives were lost – including many children on May 22, 2017 when a suicide bomb was detonated at Manchester arena after an Ariana Grande concert.

Martyn, 29, was such a fan of Coronation Steet, he had a tattoo of Deirdre Barlow on his arm.

He got the inking after Anne Kirkbride's passing in January 2015.

Explaining the tattoo, he said: "She's just completely unclassy and unashamedly unclassy ... it doesn't matter how much Ken wants an intellectual wife, she won't give it to him!"

Martyn also proved the existence of what became known as the Audrey Roberts Noise.

He made a YouTube video that put together all the questioning "hmm" sounds made by Sue Nicholls.

Hett also made a video of all the songs Gail Platt - played by Helen Worth - has sung in the soap.
