Kimberley Walsh opens up about playdates with Cheryl and Bear – and how she’s ‘grown apart’ from Sarah and Nadine
KIMBERLEY Walsh has revealed she's 'grown apart' from former Girls Aloud bandmates Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle - but says she and Cheryl are closer than ever.
The singer, 36, said she also had a good relationship with Nicola Roberts, and that her two children enjoy playdates with Chezza's son Bear.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun Online, Kimberley admitted the foursome had grown apart: “I’m closest to Nicola and Cheryl now and I do see a lot more of them.
“I do still speak to the others, but a bit more like you just check in with people that you work with, I guess.
“It’s a different chapter in our lives now. We’ve got kids and things move on don’t they?"
Kimberley's comments come as Nadine recently revealed she hasn’t had any contact with her, Cheryl or Nicola Roberts since the band broke up.
Sarah Harding echoed her comments when she was in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2017.
But Kimberley's relationship with Cheryl is as strong as ever and she told how her children Cole and Bobby enjoy playdates with little Bear.
She said: "My sons Cole and Bobby get on well with Cheryl’s baby Bear; they have a lovely time.”
Kimberley recently raised fan's hopes of a reunion for the band, but is currently busy as head judge for for Good Morning Britain’s talent competition Sing It To Win It.
The contest sees groups send in video auditions, which will then be shortlisted to eight semi-finalists who will be invited to attend a live audition in front of the judging panel, made up of Kimberley, Kate Garraway and Marc Fox from cult 80s band Haircut One Hundred.
Kim says she has grown apart from some of her bandmates
The girl group were formed in 2002 from the reality show Popstars: The Rivals.
Talking about the competition and her own reality experiences, Kimberley said she'd "enjoy auditioning people for a change and not being the one auditioning myself.”
They went on to massive success, with 20 consecutive Top Ten singles, including hits such as Sound of the Underground, Love Machine and Something Kinda Ooooh.
They took a three-year break in 2009, reuniting for their 10th anniversary in 2012, then announced their split the following year.
Kim has stayed good friends with Cheryl and Nicola - but has drifted apart from Nadine and Sarah.
Just last week the trio shared a photo of themselves enjoying a private screening of Black Panther.
