The Great British Bake Off’s Prue Leith reveals she and fellow judge Paul Hollywood row behind the scenes as they plan new series
THE Great British Bake Off's Prue Leith has revealed she and fellow judge Paul Hollywood row behind the scenes as they plan the new series.
Prue, 78, admitted the pair don't always agree on how much time the bakers should be given to complete the tasks.
Speaking at the Tric awards, she said: "We had a big long argument about how long it takes to make something.
"I'm the one who says, 'Paul, have a heart, it's a new kitchen, they don't know where they are, it's all unfamiliar, they've got camera poking in their faces, give them a bit more time'.
"He says, 'You don't understand, these bakers are good, they can do it in time.'"
Prue said last year's competition, the first on Channel 4, was harder because the bakers were more talented.
She also said her and Paul's disagreements never last for long and she's very good friends with him and presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
Prue said they "all got on very well" and will be back in the tent soon.
When asked if are friends for life, she said: "I should think so".
The celebrity edition of the Great British Bake Off is currently on screens and tonight's episode will see Stacey Solomon, Countdown's Nick Hewer, Kaiser Chiefs' Ricky Wilson and Diversity dancer Perri Kiely.
