Hollyoaks star Gary Lucy to take a nine-month break from the soap after epic affair storyline
The soap star has been forced to temporarily leave due to commitments with The Full Monty Tour
HOLLYOAKS star Gary Lucy is set to take a nine-month break from the Channel 4 soap, The Sun’s Bizarre column can exclusively reveal.
The soap star, 36, has been forced to temporarily leave due to commitments with The Full Monty Tour.
Gary, who plays Luke Morgan, is currently being cheated on by on-screen girlfriend Mandy with Darren.
A source close to the show said: “It’s going to be an epic storyline which is likely to climax this summer.
“Gary had already signed up for The Full Monty before returning to Hollyoaks last year.
“Bosses know how popular he is as a character so would never want to kill him off, he’ll definitely be back.”
Viewers saw Darren dash under the bed last night when Luke barged in to propose to his girlfriend.
To make matters even worse, the heartthrob dropped the ring and it rolled right under the bed where Darren was hiding.
Luke continued with the proposal without seeing Darren and revealed to Mandy he’d booked flights to Florida to tie the knot in two days time.
Viewers will find out if she says “yes” in the upcoming episode.
Gary is currently booked to perform around the country from September 2018 until May 2019 in the saucy stage show based on the 1997 film.
