Who is Heather Small?

Heather is a 54-year-old soul and pop singer originally from West London.

She originally found fame with M People in 1987, and throughout the 90s her dance tracks, including Moving on Up and Search for the Hero, helped the band sell 10 million records.

However, she decided to pursue her own solo career towards the end of the decade, and in 2000 released her solo album, Proud.

The lead song, which has the same title, has received wide international acclaim for its positive message of being proud of your achievements.

Shows in the US including the Oprah Winfrey Show and The Biggest Loser have used it as their theme songs.

She has been married to David Neita since 2012, and she has a son, named James, from a previous relationship with rugby union coach Shaun Edwards.

When was she on Strictly Come Dancing?

Heather appeared on the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing and lasted eight weeks on the show before being eliminated.

Partnered with Brian Fortuna, the pair were in the bottom two four times during their run, but were repeatedly saved by the judges.

In her time on the show she performed some of the show's favourite dances - including the Quickstep, Samba, Vienesse Waltz and Salsa.

She was eliminated after performing a Tango.

What is Pilgrimage: The Road to Santiago about?

Actor Neil Morrissey, entertainer Debbie McGee, comedian Ed Byrne, presenter JJ Chalmers, priest Kate Bottley, journalist Raphael Rowe join Heather to live as modern day pilgrims, staying in basic hostels and often sleeping in dormitories, on bunkbeds.

Pilgrims who walk all of the Camino take at least a month. But with just over two weeks on the road, the seven are travelling some of the route by minibus, until they reach the final 100km, when they will walk every step of the way.
