SATURDAY Night Takeaway fans want Scarlett Moffatt to stand in for Ant McPartlin this weekend following his arrest yesterday.
Ant, 42, has been released by police under investigation after he was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving in London on Sunday afternoon.
This morning Lorraine Kelly claimed Ant would return to the hit ITV family show this weekend alongside Declan Donnelly.
But fans of the series have called for Ant and Dec’s co-star Scarlett to step into the limelight.
One tweeted: “With Ant getting in trouble with the law, maybe Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway' will be Dec and Scarlett...”
Another said: “Scarlett might step in. Could be the end of Ant & Dec.”
Scarlett returned to Saturday Night Takeaway after viewers loved her presenting style when she joined the show in 2017.
The tweets calling for her to step in came just hours after Ant's arrest.
He allegedly hit two cars in his black Mini sports car at around 4pm as he and mum Christine headed home after walking their dogs.
Ant got “agitated and argumentative” with a policewoman when she arrested him on suspicion of drink-driving.
Witness Jake Spencer said the Saturday Night Takeaway presenter rowed with officers as they tried to put him in a police car after he failed a breath test at the crash scene.
He added: “Ant looked in a right state and was acting argumentatively toward a policewoman.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw who it was.
“The woman was trying to arrest him and get him in the police car but he clearly wasn’t having it.
