TOWIE star Amber Dowding has revealed the heartbreaking reason behind her split from Chris Clark.
The reality star has explained she's been busy looking after her mum while she's been ill and the couple "grew apart".
Amber, 24, has been supporting her mum Maria, 49, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016.
She has now confirmed the terrifying health battle took a toll on her relationship with Chris, 23, and they parted ways two weeks ago after getting axed from Towie.
Amber told The Sun Online the split was amicable as they simply decided it "wasn't working".
Speaking at the Minimix launch at The Megaro, she said: "We split up about two weeks ago.
"My mum has been ill and we decided it wasn't working. We have just grown apart.
"We just want different things, I am concentrating on my hair and beauty."
The couple were together for two years.
Amber went on to suggest that Chris should be free to return to Towie without her now they are no longer a couple.
She said: "I wish him all the best and really wouldn't mind if he went back on Towie now he is single."
Amber also hinted she may also come back to the show in future.
When asked about a possible return to Towie, she told us: "The door is always open.
"They are like a family to me."

Maria Dowding, 49, from Epping, Essex was diagnosed with aggressive stage three breast cancer in 2016.
However, after a brave struggle, she was declared cancer-free in March, 2017.
Amber previously said of her mum's illness: "You never expect cancer is going to happen to your family, so when we were told Mum's cancer was really aggressive I was devastated.
"But Mum was so strong."
