Matt LeBlanc rules out Friends reunion for good as he admits ‘I don’t want to do it anymore’

Fans of the show have been hoping for a cast get together ever since the show ended in 2004 - but now there hopes appear to have been dashed forever.

MATT LeBlanc has dashed hopes of a Friends reunion -  by blatantly saying he doesn't want to do it anymore.

Fans were pinning their hopes on the famous sitcom making a comeback - but Matt, who plays Joey Tribiani, is not on board.

Speaking to about the possibility of a reunion, Matt, who is now fronting Top Gear for the BBC, said: "I don’t want to do it – simple.

"People want to know what happened to them.

"But it was about a finite period in a person’s life after college, before you settle down and start a family.

"To go back and revisit all these years later, well I don’t know what the story would be now.

"They would all have moved on from that period so it just wouldn’t be the same."

Fans of the show have been hoping for a cast get together ever since the show ended in 2004 after 10 years on TV, making stars of castmates Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry, but Matt has assured them a reboot will never happen.

Matt continued: "Put bluntly, I don’t think anybody wants to see an old Joey having a colonoscopy.

"Fine when he was drinking coffee in Central Perk, or auditioning for a job.

"Not so much fun if he’s undergoing a medical procedure.

"We were a lot younger then and I think that’s how the characters should stay.

"Normally I’d never say never, but in the case of Friends I would definitely say never."

Matt has moved on from the soap and has turned his talents to presenting, having proved a hit with fans on Top Gear.

Friends co-creator David Crane has ruled it out too.

He said: “We did it, and it’s done.”

Speaking to Press Association he said: “We put a bow on Friends and, you know, if you want to watch Friends now, it’s still on television.

"Right now, it’s preserved exactly as it should be. You don’t want a bunch of people in their 50s in the coffee house!"
