Jameela Jamil has the perfect response to cruel troll who accused her of being a ‘bad Muslim’ because of her dress sense
THE 32-year-old TV personality has been spreading the message of body positivity
JAMEELA Jamil had the best response to an internet troll who accused her of being a 'bad Muslim' because of the revealing clothes she wears.
The 32-year-old TV presenter, who isn't even a Muslim, hit back at the Twitter user who told her to "get to the right path".
Jameela, who has been spreading the message of body positivity recently, shared two throwback pictures of herself wearing a white sundress to illustrate her body confidence after she gained five stone from medication she took for her asthma.
Captioning one of the pictures, The Good Place actress wrote: "When I was on steroids and gained 70lbs for a couple of years,
"The paparazzi tried to shame me and would taunt me outside my own house. Did I cover up? No.
"I wore whatever I liked and owned my fun body that took me from A to B. I also released a plus size clothing line and started a great, long relationship."
She added: "Over the course of 5 years of no meds it came off.
"But I didn't kill myself in a gym, I didn't diet. I embraced it and believed I was worth more than punishing myself for some weight when I had built this whole life I was enjoying and proud of."
But while most like-minded women praised Jameela for initiating a body positive trend, one man commented on her inappropriate dress sense.
The troll wrote: "According to your name .. I guess u r a muslim lady ....
"Do you think this is a proper dress for a muslim woman ??
"Hope you get to the right path and respect ALLAH if you really believe in him."
Jameela hit back: "Actually, I'm not a Muslim, I wasn't raised as Muslim.
"My mother was a model and my father ate pork and drank alcohol. My uncle was a catholic priest," she pointed out.
"I was raised in the West. I have no religion i follow so I'm on a fine path and all women should be allowed to dress how we like."
The troll then went onto accuse her parents of being "bad Muslims".
He said: "This is a different story then … I withdrew my words .
"It is not your fault if ur dad n mum were bad muslims .
"And I totally agree ..women should be allowed to wear anything except what's against the culture they r living in ..
"May ALLAH guides u to the right way B'Bye (sic)."
Jameela's mum, Shireen Jamil then stepped in, branding the troll a "coward who bullies young women".
The man continued to argue with Jameel's mum, replying: "Hello Mrs Jamil ..
"I think you r getting me wrong ... u r accusing me of things that are not true and never happened ...
"I just tweeted to your daughter coz I thought she is a muslim public Figure .. no offence intended."
She snapped back: "No,I don't'think I got u wrong'.U said my daughter's mum was a 'bad Muslim'.
"I'm a Muslim born Pathan, who Prayed 5 times a day;finished the Quran in Arabic aged 8,and moved away from Religion in my teens, after Men twisted Islam to control women.
"Kindness is My children's Religion."
