Who is EastEnders' Shakil Kazemi?
Shakil "Shaki" Kazemi was the son of Carmel Kazemi (Bonnie Langford) and youngest brother of Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami).
On Monday May 21 he was the victim of a brutal stabbing along with Keegan Baker.
In the scenes, Keegan stole an unattended bike not knowing that it belonged to a local gang.
When members of the gang posted photos of Keegan stealing the bike on social media they eventually found him and delivered their violent revenge.
Shakil tried to return the bike but he, too, was stabbed by the gang.
The actor has since left the soap.
When did the Eastenders stabbing scenes air?
The horrific storyline started on the week of May 15, 2018, but the pair were stabbed on the episode on May 21.
The episode marked the tenth anniversary since former EastEnders star Brooke Kinsella's brother was brutally murdered.
Brooke worked with producers on the episode.
The stabbing occurred while locals were celebrating Meghan and Harry's Royal Wedding.
Once the teen was stabbed, he tried to seek help from Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), but the landlord of The Queen Vic turned him away, believing he was drunk.
He then goes missing, as the residents of Albert Square get increasingly concerned.
Eventually, the teen is found but doctors say it's too late and his wounds were so severe he couldn't be saved.
Since, his grieving mother Carmel has been campaigning for stricter knife control while she's been struggling to come to terms with the loss of her son - and even attempted taking her own life.
Who plays Shakil Kazemi?
Shaheen Jafargholi, 21, was born January 23, 1997 and is a Welsh singer and actor.
He rose to fame in 2009 when he appeared on Britain's Got Talent, coming in seventh.
He then went on to sing Who's Lovin' You at the Michael Jackson memorial service which was globally televised in July 2009.
In May 2010, Shaheen signed a record deal with Island Records, and recorded debut album When I Come of Age and debut single Last Train Home/Hip Teens.
In April 2016, Shaheen joined the cast of EastEnders as Shakil Kazemi.
