Who plays EastEnders’ Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway, when did Tony Clay join EastEnders and what else has he starred in?
The young actor left soap fans (and Whitney) overjoyed when he returned to Albert Square
TONY Clay broke EastEnders' fans hearts when he departed the soap in February 2018 as hapless barman Callum 'Halfway' Highway.
However, The Sun Online confirmed that the actor would be reprising his role this spring – and now he's back in Whitney's arms, here's all you need to know about him...
Who is Tony Clay?
Born August 8, 1991, Tony Clay is a British actor from Bexley, Kent.
The 26-year-old graduated from the Arts Educational School in Chiswick with a BA in acting in 2013.
His first role came in 2012's short drama An Ordinary Life about the hard decisions family carers face.
Tony is also an accomplished theatre actor, having toured America with the Abbey Theatre in The Plough and the Stars.
When did Tony Clay join the cast of EastEnders?
Tony debuted in January 2018 when he accidentally shot family friend Mick Carter during a botched heist.
During his initial spell on Albert Square, Halfway quickly fell for Whitney and despite her reservations, she soon realised her feelings for him.
Tragically, Halfway was called back to duty by the army yet the couple has continued their long-distance relationship.
However, he made his return to the show at the end of April 2018.
Speaking of his return, Tony said: "I'm really happy and excited to be back on EastEnders and working with such a brilliant cast and crew.
"Halfway is such a lovely role to play and I’m really looking forward to exploring his story further and seeing where it takes us."
