EMMERDALE fans shared their heartbreak tonight after Ross Barton was the victim of a cruel prank.
The character had only just built up the confidence to return to his local pub for a pint with his brother Pete, when he caught the attention of a table of women.

After they bought the brother's a drink, one made their move on Ross, who is still struggling to come to terms with his appearance after an acid attack earlier this year.
Just as Ross started to believe the blonde was genuinely interested in him despite his scars and bandaged face, viewers discovered she was only talking to him for a sick bet with her pals.
As Ross went to the loo, she returned to her seat and demanded her money, but her friends said she had to kiss him first.
Rebecca White overheard their conversation and confronted them, just as Ross returned to the bar.

Devastated, he quickly left the pub and headed home, with Rebecca chasing after him, and his reaction broke fans' hearts.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Once again, top performance @MikeParrActor. What that woman did was cruel."
Another wrote: "Poor ross that evil cow" while a third tweeted: "Aww Ross, my heart breaks for him, brilliant acting again by @MikeParrActor."
A fourth agreed, writing: "My hearts broken for Ross" while a fellow viewer added: "How evil are those girls?? I can't believe grown adults would do something like that to another human being."

Things are set to go from bad to worse for Ross though, as he was seen at the end of the episode driving erratically with a bottle of whiskey by his side.
The character will be left fighting for his life after a 'suicide attempt' following the humiliating experience.
