Paddy McGuinness’ wife Christine admits marriage has been ‘difficult’ and she would like him to stay at home more – but insists they’re now ‘happier than ever’
The model has revealed they are trying to spend more time together after his night out with Nicole Appleton rocked their relationship
PADDY McGuinness' wife Christine has admitted their marriage has been "difficult" and she would like him to stay at home more - but she's insisted they're now "happier than ever'".
The model has revealed the couple are trying to spend more time together after his night out with Nicole Appleton rocked their relationship.
Christine, 30, has explained they are now working out their problems weeks after Paddy was pictured walking arm-in-arm with pop star Nicole on a night out in London in February .
During an appearance on Loose Women today, she spoke for the first time about the difficulties they have faced recently.
She said she often cries when Paddy leaves her at home to go off to work, but they are now making more effort to mend their marriage.
Christine said: "It's been difficult recently.
"I want us to spend more time together, to do stuff together.
"I wish he would stay home more, or that I could go with him.
"But we are happier than ever, we have been putting the effort in."
She went on: "There have been times when he's left to go to work and I've waved him off and then I've gone back into the house and cried thinking I wish he would just stay in."
Christine added that her social life has suffered since she became a mum as she hasn't wanted to go out.
However, she's now making a big effort to see more of her friends as well as working on her marriage to Paddy.
She said: "My whole social life has suffered.
"I'm trying to get it back now that the children are in school."
Paddy and Christine's marriage was in trouble last month after he was seen on a night out with Nicole, and The Sun revealed he had told his wife he was out with friends.
Christine was seen sobbing after the news broke and was later pictured having a tearful confrontation with Paddy.
She took time to consider their future before deciding to start getting their marriage back on track.
During the show today, Christine, who is a guest panelist on Loose Women, revealed Paddy was looking after the couple's three children so she would come to work today.
She also opened up about suffering from postnatal anxiety since becoming a mum - and she hates having to leave her babies.
Christine said: "I hardly ever leave them, part of [a recent] job was to go to Morocco for two nights but it just filled me for fear.
"I got on the plane, I cried, I had a panic attack and got off the plane. I did manage to go.
"I have never been away from them for two nights or so far away...
"[I have] postnatal anxiety, I have suffered from for four and half years.."
She also gave an update on her youngest daughter, Felicity, who she suspects has autism like twins, Penelope and Leo.
Christine said she has recognised clear signs that Felicity, who was born in 2016, has the same condition as her brother and sister.
The model, who now appears on The Real Housewives of Cheshire, previously admitted she spotted the signs when her little girl was just 10 months old.
