ASHLEY BANJO has persuaded three troupes of celebrities to strip naked in front of the nation.
And now the Diversity star has his heart set on another unprecedented challenge — winning Britain’s Got Talent for a second time.
I can reveal the dancer and choreographer behind the hit ITV show, The Real Full Monty, has entered the Diversity youth team into this year’s series.
The body-popping youngsters, called Diversity Juniors aka DVJ, are masterminded by Ashley, and have already been a hit with audiences and the judging panel during auditions.
A source said: “Ashley really could make history here, Diversity Juniors are that good.
“He’s very much behind the scenes but is certainly the driving force behind their success.
“It’s going to take something strong to beat them.”
It’s not the first time some of the DVJ have performed on BGT.
They appeared alongside Ashley and his Diversity co-dancers for a special performance at last year’s final.
Afterwards, Ashley hinted that a new generation of stars were on the horizon, having conceded he was getting “too old” to perform high-energy moves.
Diversity caused a stir when they beat favourite Susan Boyle to win the Britain’s Got Talent crown in 2009.
They have since gone on to perform their own tours across the UK, while Ashley has seen his profile grow as a judge on Sky One’s Got To Dance and ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
But he is also now known for his role in The Real Full Monty specials in which himself and groups of celebrities stripped off on stage to raise awareness of cancer.
He’ll be eyeing a role on the BGT judging panel next...
