Coleen Nolan left in tears as her Real Full Monty co-stars praise her for her courage and helping them strip off for charity
COLEEN Nolan was left in tears after her Real Full Monty co-stars recorded heartwarming messages for her on today’s Loose Women.
Last week Coleen, Michelle Heaton, Sally Dexter, Victoria Derbyshire, Megan McKenna, Helen Lederer, Ruth Madoc and Sarah-Jane Crawford all stripped naked in front of a live audience to raise awareness of cancer.
Appearing from her home via videolink, Coleen, 53, became emotional after Michelle, Victoria and Sally spoke of their pride and thanked her for giving them the courage to bare all.
Wiping tears from her eyes, Coleen said: “It was an amazing experience I’m so proud of us all.”
Prior to the messages Stacey Solomon was seen speaking to the girls backstage on the day of the strip.
Coleen revealed one of the moves made her think of her late sister Bernie who died from cancer in 2013.
Michelle, who underwent a double mastectomy in 2012 was comforted by Stacey as she welled up.
After the event Coleen told : “We have had thousands of fantastic, lovely messages saying they’re proud of us.
“The ones that really stood out were saying, ‘I’m going to book the mammogram I’ve been ignoring,’ or ‘I’m going to start checking my breasts’.
“That’s the message we wanted to get out there. It’s the most proud I’ve ever felt of anything I’ve done really.”
Michelle shared her feelings on Instagram following the epic night, posting a snap of her cuddled up to her young daughter Faith.
She told her fans: “Well… that was it! To everyone who’s contacted me, I’m so, so sorry I can’t possibly answer you all, (I need to sleep and I’m rather hungover from the wrap party after the performance last night)
“I’m overwhelmed by all of you out there, thank you from the bottom of my heart … I’ve cried, Hugh’s cried…”
She then added: “This picture was the day I got back after the first operation.. my double mastectomy and reconstruction.
“When I looked at faith and know I did it to be here for her… and knew I’d do anything to prevent her to be in my situation.”
Viewers of The Real Full Monty have already demanded the female version of the show return next year following the success of last week’s performance.
