Towie’s Gemma Collins and James Argent accused of having ‘a six month showmance contract to make £200k’

GEMMA Collins and James “Arg” Argent have been accused of “faking their romance to make £200,000” according to a new report.

Insiders have claimed our favourite Essex couple – who finally confirmed they were back on last month – are using their romance as a business arrangement.

Gemma and Arg’s on-off romance has played out for the past seven years but now they seem more loved up than ever.

Arg had Towie fans in tears after he begged Gemma to give him another chance last month and their relationship is now going from strength to strength.

But it seems not everyone is convinced, with an insider telling the pair are “just best friends”.

A source claimed: “The rumour around Essex is that they were encouraged by Towie producers to go with the relationship storyline and Gemma pushed it really hard.

“Gemma told him he could make £200,000 from deals and interviews if they stayed together for six months.”

Gemma later hit back at their claims and said: “Not true we are very much in love! Love is love and no amount of money would be worth it...”

This new report may be upsetting for fans of the Towie power couple.

Gemma has been Arg’s biggest supporter over the past few weeks – especially in the run up to his incredible performance on The Real Full Monty.

In a sweet message to her boyfriend, Gemma told him he was “perfect” just the way he was as Arg opened up about his body confidence issues.

Earlier this week the couple had to bat off speculation Gemma was pregnant after fans spotted her cradling her stomach during an appearance on The Generation Game.

Their representatives denied the rumours.

Viewers of last night's Towie will of course know that the picture was taken shortly after Arg - who recently stripped off for The Real Full Monty - asked his long-time love interest to be his girlfriend.

The romantic reality TV star hired a mariachi band to surprise Gemma after confessing he was in love with her.
