Who is Alice Eve? Ordeal By Innocence actress who plays Gwenda Vaughan and Star Trek and Iron Fist star
ALICE Eve might not have a recognisable name, but you'll probably have seen her work - most recently in the BBC's Ordeal by Innocence.
Here's what you need to know about her, and where you might know her from...
Who is Alice Eve?
Alice Eve is a 36-year-old actress originally from London, England.
The star has been married to her husband Alex Cowper-Smith since 2014.
She refers to Alex as her 'childhood sweetheart' after meeting him at Westminster School in London.
Alice has one blue eye and one green eye as a result of having heterochromia.
Currently, she spends her time in both Los Angeles and London.
Where would I recognise her from?
In 2004, Alice appeared alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in the Stephen Hawking BBC biopic, Hawking.
This was quickly followed up by TV series The Rotters Club, as well as films Stage Beauty and Starter for 10.
She made a major step into Hollywood in 2010, appearing in a series of rom-coms and fan favourites including She's Out of My League and Sex and the City 2.
However, she'll be most known for her role as Carol Marcus in Star Trek: Into Darkness in 2012.
In 2016, she starred in anthology series Black Mirror, playing the pretentious and status-obsessed friend in the episode Nosedive from series three.
What is the plot of Ordeal By Innocence?
Ordeal By Innocence is set Christmas 1954 and begins with the murder of wealthy philanthropist Rachel Argyll at her family estate Sunny Point. Her adopted son Jack Argyll, a young delinquent, is arrested for her murder – something he vehemently denies.
Eighteen months later, Dr Arthur Calgary, a scientist, arrives at Sunny Point claiming to have just returned from an expedition to the Arctic.
He claims to hold the alibi that can prove Jack’s innocence but it’s too late because Jack died in prison before the case could come to trial, and the Argyll family is reluctant to dig up the secrets of the past.
However, the implications of Calgary’s story can’t be ignored - if he is telling the truth then the wrong person was arrested for Rachel’s murder. And if Jack was not the killer, then it must have been somebody else at Sunny Point. But who?
