IF you ever spent a weekend hungover in the Noughties, chances are you caught an episode of Shipwrecked.
The classic reality show was last on our screens seven years ago, but Channel 4 is planning a reboot.
Bosses have earmarked the programme, which dropped a load of buff young castaways on a tropical island for the ultimate gap year, for a return in 2019 after being inspired by the success of Love Island.
A TV insider said: “Lots of people have fond memories of watching Shipwrecked in their youth and dreaming about joining the fun in paradise.
“Now Channel 4 have decided to give millennials the same experience, after Love Island proved sun-kissed hunks and beauties frolicking in a tropical setting can result in huge ratings.
“While there have been similar shows recently, like The Island and Mission Survive, they are all about making people miserable by forcing them to fight for their lives in the wild.
“On Shipwrecked, the biggest hardship the castaways faced was getting tan lines. It should go down well with the snowflake generation.”
Shipwrecked was one of the earliest reality shows, launching on Channel 4 way back in 2000.
It ran for three series before going off air in late 2001.
In 2006, it came back with a new “battle of the islands” format where rival tribes competed to recruit newcomers in a bid to be the largest group and take home up to £100,000 in prize money.
In total, Shipwrecked ran for eight series, with a final “back to basics” edition on E4 in 2012.
The show marked the first TV appearances of Jeff Brazier and Sarah-Jane Crawford, as well as Celebrity Big Brother winner Stephen Bear.
Anyone wanting to follow in their footsteps had better start doing sit-ups now.

Posting to Instagram yesterday, she wrote: “I was the first international artist to ever be asked or compete. An honour alone.
“I know a lot of people were shocked when they found out. Like why would I compete in a singing competition?
“I’m probably the least competitive person I know.”
I’m sure the pay cheque was reason enough to brave the ten-hour flight...

Bosses at the BBC’s hit wildlife show are close to signing a deal for the next series to be broadcast from the New England region in the north east of America.
There are also plans to include an American co-host alongside show regulars Chris Packham, Michaela Strachan and Gillian Burke.
A TV source said: “Producers are really excited about the prospect of filming across the Pond, especially as the wildlife will be more exciting.
“They hope to focus on chipmunks, moose, coyotes and eagles.
“If it goes down well with viewers there could be plans to make it a regular annual jaunt.”
It follows a previous special episode, Springwatch in Japan: Cherry Blossom Time.
The show is always welcome in New Zealand.?
