Coronation Street spoilers: Rana Nazir devastated as lover Kate Connor has her mum arrested over her kidnap attempt

The path of true love isn’t running smoothly for Kate Connor in Coronation Street next week when her lover Rana Nazir discovers Kate has called the police on her mum over the kidnap attempt.

Rana, played by Bhavna Limbachia in the ITV soap, is horrified when her dad turns up at number six, angrily accusing her of calling the police on her mum and getting her arrested.

But it’s nothing to do with Rana and she immediately suspects estranged husband Zeedan, who suggested Rana should report her mum to the authorities for trying to ship her off to Pakistan.

Rana heads to Speed Dahl – Zeedan’s new business venture – to have it out with him but it devastated when she discovers it was actually Kate, actress Faye Brookes, who called the cops.

She’s furious with Kate as she heads off to the police station and tells the police there is no way she would ever testify against her own mother.

Later Rana apologises to Zeedan and he offers her a job at the new restaurant.

But when new waitress Kayla spots Zeedan giving Rana a hug and kiss, he tells Kayla he thinks Rana still has feelings for him.

He’s not the only who thinks that either, Kate becomes extremely jealous of Rana and Zeedan’s bond over the week as Rana – feeling guilty about her parents cancelling the cheque the gave Zee – throws herself into helping him launch Speed Dahl.

Rana tells Kate that she can’t move into the flat just yet because Zeedan needs her.

And when the nurse convinces her brother Imran to invest in Speed Dahl, Kate sees Zeedan thanking her with a hug.

Seething with jealousy, Kate vents to Carla and Aidan and later has a go at Rana when she spots a text from Zee on her phone.
