CORONATION Street's Faye Brookes has admitted that she was "sceptical" about her lesbian affair storyline and feared there would be a "backlash" from fans.
Kate Connor and Rana Nazir were caught in the middle of a naked romp in Monday night's Coronation Street.
The lesbian couple - played by Faye Brookes and Bhavna Limbachia - have been trying to keep their secret romance on the down low following Rana's husband Zeedan finding out about them in January.
Zeedan had agreed to the women continuing their relationship as long as it was not in public, with his sister Alya and many other residents on the Street remaining unaware of their romance.
But stealing a moment together in last night's double bill, things soon got hot and steamy for Kate and Rana as they kissed on the sofa under a duvet.
As their clothes came off, the women were caught in the act when Rana's parents and sister-in-law, Ayla, walked in on them.
But Faye, 30, confessed that she has reservations about the plotline when she was initially told about it.
She said: "I am enjoying it more because at first I was sceptical when I was handed the responsibility of carrying this storyline.
"More so for Bhavna because I didn't know what sort of backlash she would get.
"But it's all been really positive and that is what Corrie does well.
"We are doing it for good and it's been so well received that I know that we are reaching out to a lot of young girls that are of the religion that Rana is."
"I only want the best for Kate and Rana's relationship so if there is a fandom at the moment for Kate and Rana then I am jumping on that bandwagon - completely."
And it seems Corrie viewers are loving the new lesbian couple so much, they've given them a power couple name, calling them "Kana".
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote:"Rana and Kate. Perfect viewing on a Monday evening after work".
While someone else joked: "Will Coronation Street be producing a one off DVD featuring the exploits of Rana and Kate? Asking for a few friends."

On what she would like to see next for the couple, the actress added: "Kate and Rana are a great dynamic on screen and people have accepted this newfound love which in the past has been taboo.
"We want to break down that barrier and I love the response from the Kana fans. This is groundbreaking and it's brilliant for the LGBT community and for Rana's religion.
"I think that's really inspiring for the next generation so let's go forward with that."
