DYNAMO has hinted he''ll change the way he does magic as he works with a physiotherapist so he can return to performing after developing arthritis as a result of his Crohn's disease.

The famous magician's career has suffered as he experienced debilitating arthritis pain in his hands which left him unable to shuffle cards.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Dynamo said he's hoping physiotherapy can help him to get back doing what he loves.

He said: "One of the main impacts for me is that it’s given me arthritis. Being a magician, I’m not able to use my hands.

"I’m working with physio so hopefully I can come back and do new magic."

The 35-year-old said he's working on new methods of magic for his tour dates later this year.

He added: "I'm always working on new ideas and I've got many ways to do magic and some of them don't use as much dexterity...I use more my mind which is still intact, touch wood.

"I’ve taken this time to evaluate my approach to magic and other parts of life."

The star’s appearance has changed recently due to the medication he takes for the condition.

High dose steroids are used to treat Crohn’s and are useful for the associated arthritis but can cause fluid retention and weight gain.

He joked: "I think it’s made me more handsome. It’s definitely had a toll on my body, I’ve put on two stone, which is quite strange."

"I've put on a lot of weigh and one of the main impacts for me is it's given my arthritis which for a magician not being able to use my hands like I normally would.

He also told of how he's had Crohn's disease since he was 14 and said a bad bout of food poisoning last year really impacted his health.

"It landed me in hospital, it put me out of action. It caused a lot of side effects. But I’m not letting it hold me back. I’ve been getting out as much as possible," he said.

During his time away from the spotlight, Dynamo travelled to Lebanon to help Syrian refugee children who have been left out of school.

Dynamo, real name Steven Frayne, recently praised NHS staff for their work to help improve his health.

In a touching video on Twitter, he said: “I’ve been keeping a bit more of a low profile as I got really sick and ended up in hospital last summer with a bad type of food poisoning.

“Having food poisoning and Chrohn’s disease is a very bad combination. Thankfully the NHS worked amazingly well to get me out of hospital and back on my feet, but there have been a lot of ongoing side-effects, which I’m dealing with today.”

In the clip he shows fans his medication and explains the pills are the cause of the weight gain and had given him a rash.

He said: “As you can probably see my appearance has changed quite a bit due to all the medication I am on.

“It has caused me to put on quite a lot of extra body weight and give me a rash all over my body.”

But he is determined to come back fighting with his career when he is in better health.

He said: “I’m working on lots of new magic so hopefully you’ll get to see that soon in the future.”
