When is V-Wars out on Netflix?
V-Wars doesn't yet have an official release date but fans can expect the drama to be released later this year.
Netflix has handed out a 10 episode, straight-to-series order for the vampire drama.
The series was first announced in 2014 as part of a deal with Entertainment One before multiple production issues caused several delays before it was eventually picked up by Netflix.
The streaming giant continues to spend an estimated $8billion annually on original programming. Stargate director Brad Turner has been tapped to helm the pilot episode.
Who's in the cast with Ian Somerhalder?
Ian Somerhalder returns to the vampire genre a year after the end of his eight-season run on The Vampire Diaries.
“We could not have dreamed of a better choice than Ian Somerhalder to bring his keen understanding of this genre from his years of starring in The Vampire Diaries to lead the cast of V-Wars,” said Ozer, President, IDW Entertainment.
In addition to starring in the series, Somerhalder is also attached to direct, having previously helmed three episodes of The Vampire Diaries.
As of yet, no other names have been announced but fans can expect more high-profile names to jump on board.

What's the vampire series about?
V-Wars revolves around Dr. Luther Swann (Somerhalder), who enters a world of horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne, into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans.
As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these vampires.
Swann races against time to understand what’s happening, while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of the vampires.
The series is based on the 2012 four-part graphic novels series of the same name.
