BRITAIN'S Got Talent's golden buzzer act Marc Spelmann slammed Simon Cowell and declared the show makes a "mockery of entertainment" in furious Twitter rant.
The Sun can reveal the magician, 46, hit out at Simon and the series in scathing tweets in 2012, calling the series “a joke” and urging “deluded” viewers not to vote.
In the tweets, which have since been deleted, he wrote: “This is the last I’ll say I promise. #bgt is a mockery of entertainment.
“It’s a joke. Simon is laughing at the deluded public. Do not vote!”
He also also accused boss Simon of staging publicity stunts to distract viewers’ attention from the “poor final”.
The illusionist was referring to an incident six years ago when the BGT boss was pelted with eggs by an angry violinist who was protesting against the show.
He wrote: “Musician chucking eggs at Simon. Wonder if it was truly random or a publicity stunt to detract from poor final?”
But in an embarrassing U-turn, Spelmann told The Sun in a statement: “I have changed rather a lot in the last six years and the offhand tweets I made about Britain’s Got Talent many years ago in no way reflect my thoughts and feelings on the show now.
“I am a huge fan of the series and it has been a dream of mine to perform for the judges since before my daughter was born.
“The tweets were careless comments made from my sofa, which I have since deleted as I would not want to give the impression I feel that way.
“The outpouring of support I have received from the public since getting the golden buzzer has been overwhelming and I can’t thank Britain’s Got Talent and the public enough, I am very proud to be part of the show.”
Spelmann’s audition was aired last weekend, with the magician performing a mind-reading act for the judges.
He reduced the audience - and host Ant McPartlin - to tears as he told them about his wife Tessa's battle with cancer while she was pregnant.
The couple had struggled with IVF for 10 years before finally discovering she was expecting, but then had to go chemotherapy.

Both she and the baby survived and they are now the proud parents of a daughter named Isabella.
Spelmann was later given the coveted golden buzzer by hosts Ant and Dec after hearing his moving story, taking him straight through to the semi-finals.
The magician's tale hit home for Ant, who also spent years trying for a baby with Lisa Armstrong.
He and estranged wife Lisa were together for 23 years, wed for 11, but faced a heartbreaking struggle to start a family.
