Dale Winton’s best moments following his shock death at 62
DALE Winton was a national treasure, having been on our TV screens for more than 30 years.
Sadly, his death at the age of just 62 was announced by his agent this evening, after Dale passed away at his home earlier in the day.
But as we mourn his loss, here are some of his best moments, as well as a trip down memory lane on the biggest and best shows he worked on.
Supermarket Sweep
Obviously quiz show with a twist Supermarket Sweep will be Dale's biggest legacy, having hosted the fun programme from 1993 until 2001.
It was then revived for six month run in 2007.
The show was such a hit, Dale even starred in a dance video featuring his catchphrases and an epic disco beat called Will You Dance With Me, which was released in 1994.
In It to Win It
In 2002, Dale took on a new quiz show, the National Lottery's In It To Win It.
The programme was such a hit, it ran for 18 series until 2016.
Pets Win Prizes
Dale took over hosting the show on the BBC for series two, having previously been fronted by Danny Baker.
The show ran from 1994 until 1996 and saw owners and their pets compete for, well, prizes.
Hole in the Wall
While this 2008 BBC show could be remembered for all the wrong reasons, Dale was still as delightful as ever as the host.
Celebrity contestants dressed head to toe in Lycra had to contort themselves and fit through different shaped holes in a moving wall.
This is Your Life
Dale was in for a shock in 2000 when he was surprised with a famous red book on This is Your Life.
He was joined on the show by showbiz friends including actress Michelle Collins and Nicholas Parsons.
Dale's Wedding
In 2003 Dale starred in a mockumentary where he 'married' Nell McAndrew.
The spoof featured some of Dale's dearest friends including Cilla Black and Tony Blackburn.
He was a good sport when he realised he'd been pranked on Noel's House Party
Noel's House Party
As one of TV's most beloved presenters, it was no surprise Dale was on the receiving end of an infamous Gotcha from Noel's House Party back in the 90s.
Under the pretence of being hired to work on Top Gear Magazine, Dale had to deal with a late bride, a wedding cake in an open top car and a vicar rushing through the service before the Bishop arrived.
Obviously hilarity ensued but Dale was a good sport.

Would I Lie To You?
In 2012, Dale appeared on BBC panel show, Would I Lie To You? and told the other guests he used to sleep with a potato instead of a comfort blanket or teddy bear.
Despite the opposing team thinking he was telling the truth, Dale was actually telling a porky pie and managed to earn his group a much needed point.
Royal Variety Performance 2001
Dale was never afraid to poke fun at himself and did so with aplomb during the Royal Variety Performance in 2001.
As John Culshaw impersonated him on stage, Dale walked out and joined him, making the audience in the theatre and at home laugh a lot.
