Emmerdale fans’ tears as Belle Dingle starts hearing voices again

EMMERDALE fans were in tears as they watched Belle Dingle break down during tonight’s episode.

The troubled teen started hearing voices in her head again after her mum Lisa left the village.

In tonight’s instalment, she started to suffer what appeared to be another heartbreaking meltdown.

Belle’s breakdown came after her brother Sam started arguing with her when she returned home.

She has refused to tell her dad Zak where Lisa is, and Sam wanted to know why.

But as he shouted at her, you could hear a female voice whispering: “Belle,” repeatedly.

It then said to her: “Belle, Belle - you can't ignore us.”

The teen’s eyes widened as it became clear what was happening and she looked terrified.

Upset fans couldn’t contain themselves as they watched the emotional scene.

One tweeted: “I dunno if I can go through Belle's illness again.”

Another wrote: “Belle hearing voices again is breaking me.”

While a third said: “I really hope Belle hearing voices gets resolved fast . I don’t want her to suffer like she did before.”

Belle's troubles started as a child when she accidentally killed her friend Gemma Andrews.

She was sent to a young offenders unit and when she returned to the village, she was a completely changed little girl.

But it soon became clear Belle was ill, and soap bosses revealed the voices in her head belonged to Gemma.

At the time, doctors believed she was suffering from schizophrenia and she was sectioned after trying to take her own life.

Belle's condition has been under control for the past year and a half but now the stress seems to be taking its toll.

At the end of tonight's instalment of the ITV soap, she was comforted by Lachlan.

He begged her to accept help rather than try and ignore the voices in her head.

But will Belle listen to him?
