POLDARK star Eleanor Tomlinson and England cricketer Jonny Bairstow have struck up a blossoming friendship, a source has revealed.

The red-haired pair flirted during a day out at Aintree last weekend, where they were said to have swapped numbers.

The wicket-keeper, 28, is thought to have asked the actress, 25, on a date after five hours drinking in a private box at the race course.

A friend said: “They both really hit it off. He kept trying to persuade her to go out clubbing with him after.”

The pal said Jonny went to the London Carriage Works bar in Liverpool, but Eleanor decided to go home.

The Yorkshire county star on Friday posted online a photo of them at the races.

He captioned it: “It was amazing to share some special memories with some special people!”
