A-list actor looks unrecognisable in new film role – but can you guess which movie star this is?

WE'RE more familiar with seeing him as a soldier-turned-traitor or a hedge fund king - and he's even been tipped as the next James Bond.

But the usually slim A-list star looked completely unrecognisable as he walked around his new movie set in Toronto this week.

Incredibly, under a fat suit and thick-layer prosthetics is none other than British actor Damian Lewis.

He's playing former mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford, in the movie Run This Town, which follows a young reporter attempting to expose a scandal in the Canadian city.

The Homeland star may seem an unlikely choice for the role as the controversial crack-smoking politician - who was around 10st heavier than Lewis.

But thanks to some incredible cosmetics, the 47-year-old has been bulked up to match Ford's portly figure - and the similarity is uncanny.

Lewis told Kit Magazine earlier this month, the process takes seven hours and involves "getting his face and head completely covered in silicon strips, breathing through a small hole near the nose".

He took to Twitter yesterday to joke about the cumbersome costume as he attempted to watch the Liverpool vs Roma Champion's League semi-finals.

The actor: "And King Mo puts the Mighty Red Men one up!!!!

“Never been more awkward trying to get footie results while having my head buried in prosthetics."

The movie is reportedly set during Ford's term as the city's mayor from 2010 to 2014.

Ford was embroiled in a major scandal in 2013 after a video surfaced of him using cocaine, but he refused to resign as mayor.

He was also accused of sexual harassment several times over his career.

The disgraced mayor later took a sabbatical to receive treatment for an alcohol and drug addiction.

He was diagnosed with an abdominal tumour in 2014 and died two years later at the age of 46, after chemotherapy proved ineffective.

Details of the movie remain under wraps but The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the story is told against the backdrop of the Ford's last mayoral term.

But Lewis' role will be minor in the film as the story focuses on those who tried to keep his controversial actions out of the spotlight, according to CBS.

Run This Town will also star Ben Platt, Nina Dobrev and Mena Massoud.
