Leatherface told the story of how the titular character went from a traumatised youth to the cold-blooded killer seen in 1974's Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Speaking of the chilling role, Sam explained to : "I actually saw the original when I was very young, much to my parents' dismay.

"They were watching it and I was hiding behind the sofa watching it too."

He added: "The image of Gunnar Hansen swinging the chainsaw around at the end of the original always stuck with me."

Johnny's time in Albert Square saw him coming to terms with his sexuality.

Leatherface was due to launch a new horror film franchise but production company Lionsgate and Millennium Films lost the rights due to the extensive delay in releasing the project.

The movie was filmed in Bulgaria back in 2015 but was temporarily shelved by the production company until finally being released in October 2017.
