Scarlett Moffatt ‘couldn’t get out of bed’ and ‘cried for days’ after DVD diet was revealed as a sham

SCARLETT Moffatt has broken her silence after her weight loss DVD was exposed as a sham — and said that she "cried for days."

The Sun revealed in March that the reality star misled audiences by secretly attending a boot camp.

Instead of losing weight in a healthy way, the Gogglebox star ate only 700 calories a day and exercised for hours a day.

Scarlett confessed to You magazine: "Oh my God, I’ve cried so much.

"There have been times in these past weeks when I’ve had to push myself to get out of bed."

She also laughed off rumours that she had an affair with Ant McPartlin in the interview.

The I’m A Celebrity winner’s SuperSlim Me Plan was released on Boxing Day 2016 — a fortnight after she returned from her game show triumph in the Aussie jungle.

On the DVD presenter tells unsuspecting fans who paid £9.99 for a copy: “If I can do it — a professional couch potato — then you can too. With the help of . . . this cunning plan.”

The Sun on Sunday revealed that she actually a attended the ultra-tough boot camp in Switzerland.

Sources said she was also pushed to “breaking point” by a “starvation” diet and a spokesperson denied that she had taken diet pills.

For the DVD Scarlett slimmed from 11st 4lb to 8st.

At one point Scarlett even texted a pal saying: “It’s so hard losing weight anyway without this pressure of having to persuade people you’re doing everything they’re telling you even though I know it’s bad on my body only eating like 600/700 calories a day (crying emoji).”

In another message she added: “My mam’s going to call I can’t do this anymore its too much and I’m having to almost persuade people to believe me — I wanted to make an honest DVD this doesn’t feel right.”
