He wrote: “Why the f*** is there a Costa Coffee in a back cobbled street in Weatherfield?? I’m not happy!! ROYS ROLLS…yes absolutely! COSTA COFFEE…not in a month of Sundays!! Product placement gone mad!”

However, one of Tony’s followers thought he was being unreasonable and responded: “How do you think things get paid for? You might not like it but production etc costs money… get a grip, it’s make believe telly #justsaying.”

The star, who plays Kenneth DuBeke on Benidorm, hit back: “Amazing how they managed for almost 60 years then without using the street as a walking billboard, isn’t it?

“Have you noticed those little moments during the show where the story pauses for 4 minutes and the commercials come on? THEY are what pay for it dear! Just saying!!”

“Just a shame that no one seems to have given a toss about the authenticity of a costly rip off coffee chain in a back street of Manchester.
