Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood to undergo a second hip replacement operation
CRAIG Revel Horwood has revealed he will have to undergo a second hip replacement operation.
The Strictly Come Dancing judge had one hip replaced back in 2013 due to the strain of his dancing career.
Now the 52-year-old will have to undergo a second operation five years on as he's "in agony on a daily basis".
Speaking to , Craig said he had put off the surgery so he could go on a P&O Strictly-themed cruise.
But now he's back, the former pro dancer plans to have the surgery as soon as possible as he's been in pain since last summer.
A spokesperson for Craig told The Mirror: "He is indeed having his second hip replacement operation this week."
Back in 2013, Craig went to the doctor with what he thought was a torn ligament but he was actually suffering from severe osteoarthritis.
After having a titanium hip fitted, Craig was in a wheelchair before gaining his strength back and walking with crutches and then the help of a cane.
Craig said previously of the surgery: "It’s all those years of can-cans and dropping the splits. Classical ballet can be quite detrimental to your body."
But there's no need for Strictly viewers to worry as the fan favourite will be ready to rumble when the new series returns later this year.
