Towie bosses ‘plan to turn Chris and Jon Clark into Essex’s own Phil and Grant Mitchell’
Single Chris has returned to Towie after his split from Amber Dowding
TOWIE bosses are planning to turn Chris and Jon Clark into "Essex's own Phil and Grant Mitchell".
It comes after the Sun Online revealed that Chris was returning to the show after being axed last January.
Chris has already filmed his return scenes with Jon for Towie at their shop Essex Tints, which will be aired this Sunday night on ITVBe.
Brothers Chris and Jon have a car window tinting business - similar to EastEnders brothers Phil and Grant, who burst onto the screens in 1990 as mechanics in the BBC1 show, alongside their mum Peggy played by Barbara Windsor, who ran the Queen Vic pub.
A source told The Sun Online: "Chris has been brought back in to be the voice of reason for Jon.
"They are being billed as the 'Phil and Grant of Essex' for always having each other's backs.
"Then there's the bickering too. People can relate, and fans really like to see them in action.
But more than anything, they are there for each other through their break-ups and whatever else life throws at them."
Phil and Grant shot to fame on Albert Square in 1990, alongside their mum Peggy Mitchell played by Barbara Windsor.

Chris has returned to the show for a few scenes after his break-up from Amber Dowding.
A source told The Sun Online: "It will probably lead to more time on the show rather than just a one off as he is now single and also fallen out with ex best friend Myles Barnett.
"Now he is single it will be interesting to see how his love life evolves on the show.
"That's certainly another reason why he is back. He has a lot of appeal - he even dated Jesy from Little Mix the first time he split from Amber."
The Sun Online has contacted Towie for comment.
